Statistics: Russia’s June business confidence rises in production

MOSCOW, Jun 24 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Business Confidence Index fell in the production and distribution of power, gas and water on the month in June compared with December 2015, but grew in the processing and mineral production industry, the Federal State Statistics Service said in a statement Friday citing a poll of 3,100 companies.

“The Business Confidence Index, which reflects a generalized entrepreneurs’ behavior, rose to 2% in June 2016 from minus 5% in December 2015 in the mineral production industry, it increased to minus 4% from minus 11% in the processing industry, and fell to minus 10% from 2% in the production and distribution of power, gas and water,” the statement read.

The improvement of the situation the mineral extraction industry in the next six months was expected by 22% of respondents, 16 percentage points more than the number of respondents forecasting a worse situation. The number of optimists in the processing sector stood at 27% of respondents, 18 percentage points more than the amount of pessimists.
